The Heart of Gold, aka "Goldie," is a Quasar-type homunculus and part of the Auxiliary Fleet.

History[edit]

Constructed in late 2019 at the CELAN Aperture Labs Chipyards, Heart of Gold maintained most of the components from Lightstricken's previous system, Bistromath. The recommission was primarily a switch from Bistromath's 8th-generation Intel platform to 3rd-generation Ryzen, a swap which necessitated a few added pieces for such issues as AIO fit, lighting control and others. Heart of Gold was later moved from its NZXT housing to a Thermaltake Level 20 VT cube chassis.

Refit and recommission[edit]

In 2020, Lightstricken began preparing a Power Mac G4 chassis for a new desktop build, removing a number of Heart of Gold's core components in the process. Replaced by Vergil, Heart of Gold was briefly in disuse. However, with the potential return of LANning following the Big Sick, the system was refit with a new CPU and storage in order to bolster the Auxiliary Fleet.
