House Geek is the earliest predecessor of CELAN. Founded in 2001 at the advent of the First Age, the House is a decentralized absurdist Athenian democracy, also known as a Calvinball State. Though many members of House Geek departed at the start of the Second Age, the organization nevertheless persists, made up of remnant personnel in Faiak, Alaska.

Politics[edit]

As a Calvinball State, the House has an Executive Branch, a Legislative Branch (made up of all 'members'), and a Judicial Branch. The Earl also maintains an extensive cabinet, through arbitrary and frequent formation of new Departments

Voting[edit]

Any and all votes passed within the parliment of House Geek, regardless of how the votes are split, are subsequently made unanimous in retrospect. Similarly, if something is found superior to its predecessor, it is retroactively considered the original. Some issues remain unsolved, like the Cake Versus Pie Issue, whose orgins begin at West Valley High School in English Class and spans nearly half a decade now. As of now, the embittered and staunch supporters of both sides have laid their weapons and arguments aside, though the Issue does still come up occasionaly.

History[edit]

Golden Age[edit]

Scattering[edit]

As with all things youthful and idealistic, House Geek has suffered a great scattering of members. It started before the Golden Age with the loss of Arsi Domini to the Cheeselands of the Greater Midwest and as members continued to trickle in (through random number drawings and cult-like recruitment at the high schools) the Mass Scattering of 2004 has laid waste to House Geek reserves. The graduating class of 2004 has made its way around the US - and to the stars - though most frequently return to the homebase of FaiAk for LANning and snuggles.
